Welcome to Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic.

We want to thank each and every one of you for the care and concern you gave to our Eli. We know, sometimes, he wasn’t the easiest kitty to work with, because he carried with him some of his feral behavior of long ago. Eli bestowed upon us the privilege of being the only humans he really trusted and was relaxed around and because of this we were able to see and enjoy Eli’s loving personality. Our Eli (12 wks old when we trapped him – wild as can be) inadvertently walked into our hearts, graced our backyard and shared with us his thoughts concerning events of the day for over 15 years. To us he was a kitty that enjoyed hugs and squeezes and could never receive enough of these along with kisses. Thank you for always being there for us and Eli.

Meet Our Staff

Alida Swafford, Lead Veterinary Nurse

I joined MVVC in September of 2000 after 2 years of experience working in the veterinary field. My furry family consists of two felines, Cootie and Wolfie. While I enjoy working with dogs, cats and birds, I have particular interest in zoo animals and marine biology. I plan on returning to college next year to become licensed and from there continuing my education to become a marine biologist.

Stacey Littrell, Registered Veterinary Technician

I began my employment at Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic in 2001. I really enjoy my work and I am fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful team. I strive to continue to grow and gain knowledge in my field, I look forward to being a part of your pets well being and care.

Jessica Quezada Haws, Veterinary Nurse

I have been with Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic since March 2006. I received an AS degree in Veterinary Technology from Western Career College in 2007. I am now studying and preparing to take my RVT exam to receive my license. My husband and I love our 3 pets. Luna and Bogart are our oddball and “full of personality” cats and our spunky pup named Juno who comes to work with me everyday. I hope to see you in the clinic where a smile always starts a great day.

Robert Anthony Marrufo, Veterinary Nurse

I started working for MVVC in March 2011. I received an Associate in Science Degree in Veterinary Technology from Carrington College, California in the spring of 2011 and one of my personal goals is to pass the California RVT exam to receive my veterinary technician license. I have had numerous pets in my lifetime including hamsters, turtles, lizards, birds, fish, cats and dogs. My girlfriend and I currently have 2 dogs, Mopsy, a Shih Tzu and Shadow, a Pomeranian. MVVC has been a great place for me to start my career and I look forward to meeting new clients and giving the best care I can for their pet.

Cathy Dutra, Veterinary Assistant

I began working at MVVC, on a part time basis in July of 1996. I enjoy my work very much, working with a great staff as well as interacting with our clients, as together; we care for their pets.

I am very involved in training and showing my dogs in obedience, conformation and agility. I am a member of Fremont Dog Training Club and have been their trainer for many years, I teach basic obedience to new dog owners and competition obedience to people who want to train and compete with their dogs.

I am also very involved with a local agility club located at Swiss Park in Newark where I take agility lessons to prepare my dogs for competition. I am actively showing 3 dogs in obedience and agility trials and love training and competing with my k9 partners.

My love for animals and knowledge of their care continues to grow and I look forward to build on my experience with the clients and staff of MVVC.

Maleia Sunseri, Receptionist

Irma Inguanzo, Front Office Manager

I began working in the Veterinary field in 2006 and joined the Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic family in February 2008. My furry family consists of my toy poodle, JoJo that I absolutely adore. I look forward to learning new things and meeting our wonderful furry patients while at work. MVVC has helped me grow and I continue to learn, as well as creating new friendships everyday with our clients.

Julie Petrie, Receptionist

I have worked as a receptionist, technician, and office manager for Mission Valley Vet Clinic since April of 1996. During my tenure at MVVC I explored my other career options outside of the veterinary field, however, my love for animals has always brought me back to MVVC. Recently I started Peace of Mind Pet & Home Care. Working with the doctors, staff, clients, & patients of MVVC has been a challenging & exciting learning experience. Owning my own pet sitting business has given me the opportunity to bring the professionalism, knowledge, & compassion that I have gained from working at MVVC into the best possible place for a pet to be: home.
